Alicia Roisman Ismach
Head of Atlantic Fintech
Alicia Roisman Ismach is fintech pioneer and serial entrepreneur with a dynamic personality.
the way from Argentina to Israel at the age of 16, Alicia’s inner
hustler brought her early on to the business world. As soon as she
completed her Master degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, she
launched her first tech start-up that launched in Europe with one of the
top computer manufacturers at the time.
In 2006, she launched SeerGate, the first real time Account to Account payment systems for banks, partnering with United Bank of Africa to offer the service to users in multiple countries. In 2015 the company merged with a US public company while Alicia was facing breast cancer diagnosis.
After successfully battling cancer, Alicia joined Amaryllis, the provider of a technology platform for complex payments models and helped the company launch their system with a top payments acquirer in the US.
Alicia moved to Moncton in 2018 to enjoy from a better life and work balance. Her passion for fintech, innovation and relationship building urged her to seek people with shared interests. While she was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Venn Innovation, she mentored and coached several fintech entrepreneurs. She was struck by the captivating stories of entrepreneurs in the region and the ingenuity of their innovation. Several of these companies did not identify as fintech, and most often the case that they did not even realize they were fintech entrepreneurs. This was clearly stopping them from leveraging potential opportunities for growth.
“I love technology and continue to watch it grows. I enjoy discussing technology with entrepreneurs every day not because it’s part of my job, but because it fuels my passion.”
Recognizing the gap and understanding there was a lot of work to be done, Alicia founded Atlantic FinTech to support and nurture the fintech ecosystem with expertise, resources and meaningful global partnerships.
As the Head of Atlantic Fintech, Alicia wears many hats (both literally and figuratively). She leads the strategy to support the growth of the fintech industry in Atlantic Canada by creating a cohesive ecosystem for fintech startups to connect, learn and grow together.
“Never give up on your passion. Stay focused on your goal and know when to pivot. Differentiation is key. One thing I like to do is to wear unique hats when meeting people at events to make a lasting impression.” – Alicia Roisman Ismac
